Philippe grew so fond of them that he not only hired all of the staff locally, but further supports Anopura’s surrounding villages by engaging the generous help of friends who have been equally struck by the soul of Anopura.
Together, they added classrooms to the village school, donated supplies for its students, and built toilets. They help to maintain the temple at the head of the valley and support local cricket teams.
They are now undertaking to connect running water to the entire village.

A ‘terrain de pétanque’ lies in the garden as a reminder of things at home. For those of you who feel up for a challenge, we offer guests versus staff matches every evening at cocktail hours.
Creature comforts are not spared here at Anopura, where you will find your rooms, whether one of the two bedrooms off the courtyard or our luxury Rajasthani tent, all filled with super king-size beds, superb mattresses and the finest locally sourced linens. Ceiling fans and air-conditioning, as well as plenty of inspirational reading matter help our guests feel more at home. A laptop with Internet connection is provided in the TV room.

Chotu, Anopura’s resident chef, trained in some of the finest restaurants of Rajasthan. Obviously a master of the delicious local Rajasthani dishes, he has also taken to Western and International cuisines with alacrity and has an extensive repertoire to suit any palette. Philippe’s insistence on fine dining at every meal has turned Anopura into a unique destination in India: “a foodie heaven”.
Breakfasts are usually Continental with a selection of local breads and pastries, homemade jams, yoghurt and fruit, although don’t be surprised if you are offered the Full English, or a selection of cheeses and charcuterie.
Lunch is whenever, whatever and wherever you want. You can either discuss the menu directly with Ishwar, the house manager, ask for a picnic to be prepared, or let Chotu go to work and surprise you.
Dinner is the same menu choices, though usually a candle lit affair by the pool or in the air-conditioned dining room if it is too hot.

Upon reserving a deposit of 50% is required payable by wire transfer. The remaining 50% is required 10 days prior to arrival.
Management will return 10% of the deposit for any cancellation occurred 15 days prior to arrival. After this period management will retain 20% of the deposit.
